Workstation

The purpose of the workbench is to provide users with a centralized platform for managing and monitoring Internet of Things (IoT) devices and data. Through the workbench, users can have real-time visibility into the status, data, and alarm information of the devices. They can also remotely control and configure the devices, as well as perform data analysis and visualization. Additionally, the workbench offers functionalities such as device management, user access control, data storage, and backup, enabling users to efficiently manage and operate their IoT systems.

Grouping at DTU

It can be created based on actual business requirements. After creation, multiple DTUs can be grouped together. For example, in a specific building, if monitoring is conducted by three DTUs named A, B, and C, they can be grouped under one category and differentiated by naming it as "[xxx Building DTU]."

List of Danish Technical Universities (DTU)

All DTUs within a group will be displayed here, such as the three DTUs in the previous example: A, B, and C. Clicking on one of them will take you to the specific DTU operation interface. All the interfaces on the right side, including the functional group navigation, functional area, and DTU device list, are based on the operation of a specific DTU.

Functional Group Navigation

A specific operation within a particular DTU includes the following:

  • Data monitoring: Monitoring the data transmitted by the devices within the DTU. For instance, if the DTU has temperature and pressure sensors, the data monitoring function will monitor the specific values of these two devices. However, proper monitoring of these devices requires manual configuration, primarily involving the configuration of specific information such as port numbers used by the devices. Once the configuration is completed, the system can monitor the devices effectively.

  • Alarm notifications: Alarm notifications can be configured within the specific device settings. Whenever the parameters of a device trigger an alarm, the information will be recorded here for users to review.

  • Historical data: If data collection is enabled on the device, it is possible to record and view historical data.

  • Tag addresses: This section allows storage of address configurations, which can be applied when adding new devices. It can be understood as a quick application of predefined configurations.

  • Associated users: If the DTU is owned by the user (part of the DTU information can also be shared by other users with this account), this section allows the user to view and manage the shared users.

  • Quota information (under development): This feature is currently under development. It automatically calculates core parameters of similar devices based on the collection of certain device parameters. For example, it can automatically calculate power consumption (in kilowatt-hours) by collecting data such as temperature (in Celsius), water pressure (in pascals), and power (in kilowatts).

  • Basic configuration: This section contains the basic information of the DTU. Users can edit the device's alias, view the serial number, enable email notifications, reconnect, or delete the device.
